Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency(JAXA)(ISAS)), Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan, Authors have developed low melting temperature thermoplastic propellant (LTP) for the Next Generation Solid Rocket by using thermoplastic elastomer. For more improvement performance, aluminum (Al) addition to LTP was studied. They produced LTP with Al addition experimentally, which productivity, mechanical properties, and combustion properties were obtained. Al less than 16% and binder more than 18% were necessary to mixing and fusion molding.
