The running sled is equipped with a small turbojet engine and measurement devices. It was accelerated up to 80km/h and decelerated by the water braking system on a subscale sled track facility of 100 m in length and 14cm in track width. Velocity, acceleration, and braking force are measured and analyzed through several times of test runs. 6 types of water buckets are compared in terms of deceleration performance.
