However, hydrazine is a high toxicity liquid. Spacecraft researchers need a low toxicity propellant. Hydroxyl Ammonium Nitrate (HAN: NH3OHNO3) is proposed as low toxicity propellant. The propellant causes the severe chemical reaction, and the electrode is consumed for electic thrusters. In this study, the capability of HAN for DC Arcjet Thruster's propellant is examined.
