PLANET-C, the Venus climate orbiter, will be exposed to sunlight of 2 Suns on the Venus orbit and the predicted temperature of the solar array panel is 162 C at the highest case. MMO, the Mercury magnetospheric orbiter, will be exposed to sunlight of as intense as 11 Suns on the Mercury orbit and the predicted temperature of the solar array panel reaches 230 C. We are evaluating solar cells for these explorers through long-hour continuous operation tests under a high solar intensity and high temperature environment. The solar cells are undergoing two sorts of tests. One is a current passage test, which is performed at SHARP Corp., and the other is a generation test, which is performed at ISAS using \"Inner-Planet Thermal Vacuum Environment Simulator\". This equipment consists of a solar simulator and a vacuum chamber in which solar cells can be subjected to a generation test under intense sunlight at high temperature. The solar cells for PLANET-C have undergone a current passage test of 2000 hours being passed current equivalent to 2 Suns at 200 C. In parallel, the solar cells have been subjected to a generation test of 200 hours under sunlight of 2 Suns at 170 C. Two percent of decrease in their generating current was observed in both cases. The solar cells for MMO have undergone a current passage test of 1000 hours and still being tested with current equivalent to 11 Suns at 200 C. In parallel, the solar cells have been subjected to a generation test of 140 hours under sunlight of 11 Suns at 230 C. Further generation test is planned in the near future. The solar cells which have underwent the generation test have been deteriorated more at the moment. We will confirm the characteristics through the future
