Education outreach has often been emphasized as an effective means to build better public relations and to ensure public support for the allocation of public funds for space exploration. Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), however, introduces Space Education in order to propose a new paradigm to the agency's education outreach and its goals. JAXA's Space Education defines its efforts and goals on education as distinct from the regular education outreach that has as a main goal to build better public relations. JAXA's Space Education aims to support and enhance the goals of public education and schooling with findings, experiences and perspectives gained through the agency's exploration and research in and on Space. JAXA's Space Education therefore does not set a priority on building public awareness of and support for the agency and its missions. Instead, JAXA's Space Education seeks to build citizens with a strong sense of mission for building a better tomorrow. This paper introduces the theoretical background and the rationale for JAXA's endeavor and investment in the Space Education., 形態: カラー図版あり, Physical characteristics: Original contains color illustrations, 資料番号: AA0061886001, レポート番号: JAXA-RR-12-007}, title = {宇宙教育の目的と意義: 学校教育実践としての宇宙教育}, year = {2013} }
