Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(ISAS)), Sagamihara, Kanagawa Japan, Using High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) images, we observe two significant gullies. First, we newly find gullies whose shapes are very strange, which we call "dune gully". Second, 10 dune gullies are observed which these are now active and growing. Previous work didn't show that dune gullies are universal on the surface of Mars. We map dune gullies' distribution in the mid-to-high-latitude area (60 deg S to 45 deg S, -30 deg E to 45 deg E) and find that dune gullies are not unique for Russell Crater. We also consider that what the source of active dune gullies is. Our results are that the source is the debris flow which contains liquid water, and these two facts imply that water cycle over wide area may occur., 形態: カラー図版あり, Physical characteristics: Original contains color illustrations, 資料番号: AA0065116027}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構宇宙科学研究所 (JAXA)(ISAS), Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)(ISAS)}, title = {Gullies over sand dune; Water-related formation and their distribution of mid-to-high-latitude of southern hemisphere on Mars}, volume = {43}, year = {2010} }
