Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)), Ordinary imaging and imaging polarimetric survey have been actively performed by wide-field, near-infrared, and multi-band polarimeter, SIRPOL in South Africa. Polarimetric observations have shown circumstellar structures which can not be indicated by ordinary observations. In addition to linear polarimetry of SIRPOL, circular polarimetry of SIRPOL has been started. It means that polarization state of photons, expressed by Stokes parameters, can be obtained by astronomical observation by SIRPOL. Moreover, the next observational equipment at Subaru Telescope in Hawaii, HiCIAO, will be performed soon. HiCIAO will provide observational data of high spatial resolution and high sensitivity, including polarization status, while SIRPOL provides wide-field survey data. We are developing a code for numerical three-dimensional vector radiative transfer with Monte Carlo method, incorporating optical property of dust grains. We are also applying the code to astronomy and planetary sciences., Number of authors: 11, 資料番号: AA0064291011}, pages = {48--51}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構宇宙科学研究本部, Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)}, title = {Numerical calculation of polarization state of scattered photons by Monte Carlo method and its applications}, volume = {41}, year = {2009} }
