We verified this model by using Fe-Mg zoning in olivine produced by dynamic crystallization experiments for bulk chemical compositions like a Martian meteorite (Yamato 980459) and a lunar meteorite (LAP 02205). The calculated zoning profiles are in good agreement with the experimentally produced profiles and the calculated cooling rates are also in good agreement with the experimental cooling rates. These results mean that our model is valid for calculating the cooling rate on the basis of Fe-Mg zoning considering the crystal growth and that the Fe-Mg interdiffusion coefficient used is relatively
