When the newly developed seismometer on-board penetrator is deployed on the moon's surface, it will experience the impacting shock exceeding 6,000 G. To verify the dynamic characteristics of the seismometer after impact penetration, we have made a series of seismic observations at a terrestrial seismic observatory. Compared with a reference seismometer (L-4 geophone typical of sensor for terrestrial seismology), no significant difference can be seen in the waveforms measured between two types of sensors. And also, the signal to noise ratio of the seismometer on-board penetrator was calculated, which was the value expected on the moon, and was compared with that of Apollo long-period seismometer. We expect that the newly developed short-period seismometer can detect the deep moonquakes with better signal to noise ratios than the Apollo seismic system., 資料番号: AA0063505013}, pages = {49--52}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構宇宙科学研究本部, Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA/ISAS)}, title = {The moonquake observation by the short-period seismometer for lunar exploration}, year = {2006} }
