In this study, conducted are laser irradiation experiments in order to estimate the redox reaction rate of sulfur oxides in vapor clouds. Analyzed is the final SO2/SO3 ratio in vapor clouds of the sulfate composition using a quadruple mass spectrometer (QMS) and estimated are the quenching temperature and the effective reaction rate of the reaction from SO2 to SO3 under high-temperature conditions. The present results suggest that the reaction rate at lower temperatures is much larger than that calculated by the theoretical model by Ohno et al.
