The formation of H2CO and CH3OH proceeds efficiently through the hydrogenation of CO on both pure solid CO and CO-H2O mixed ice below 12 K. Around at 15 K, the hydrogenation of CO on pure solid CO is significantly suppressed, however that in CO-H2O mixed ice proceeds efficiently. Hydrogenation of CO on pure solid CO at 12 K is enhanced by a presence of H2CO molecules on the surface.
