The model includes the lateral variations of the crustal thickness and the concentration of heat-generating elements, and a vertical distribution of thermal conductivity which depends on the porosity in the crust. The calculated heat flows are compared with the observed heat-flows at Apollo 15 and 17sites. It is found that calculated heat flow values are 20 to 30 percent larger than the observed values by Langseth et al. (1973): the difference will become further larger, if the heat flow focusing effect induced by megaregolith thickness variation is taken into account.
