Experimentally investigated was the methane formation rate over iron catalyst under conditions similar to those within the circumplanetary nebula (P = 0.09-0.53 bar, T = 500-650 K, H2/CO = 1000). The results show that the methane production does not simply increase as the temperature rises predicted by the previous work, and it proceeds efficiently between T = 525 and 625 K. The results also suggest that the conversion of CO into CH4 in the circumplanetary nebula may proceed in short time and CH4-rich subnebula may be formed at early stage of its evolution. The organics, formed by the disequilibrating process from CH4, may affect the formation time of satellites and be supplied to the icy
