The stacking method was originally for the detection of small GEO debris at National Aerospace Laboratory of Japan. The method also works very efficiently for the detections of small asteroids. The method was applied on the Subaru images. For the used data, the method could detect 4 times as many asteroids as the blinking method could. The size range of detected asteroids is around a few hundreds meters.
