Powders of olivine and meteorites (Allende, Gao-Guenie, and NWA539) were prepared for the measurements. In order to investigate the effect of the surface roughness on the reflectance, 'fluffy' and 'compact' type powdery layers were prepared. The surfaces of the 'fluffy' layers were rougher than that of the 'compact' layers. It was found that the rough surfaces ('fluffy') had lower absolute reflectance than the smooth surfaces ('compact') in visible wavelength region. The rough surfaces were found to be redder than the smooth surfaces for the meteorite powders. These effects of the increased surface roughness, i.e., reduced absolute reflectance and reddened spectra, are qualitatively in agreement with the characteristics of so-called 'space weathering'. Based on these results, a relation between the absolute reflectances of the surfaces with two different degrees of roughness is presented., 資料番号: AA0046650071}, pages = {278--281}, publisher = {宇宙航空研究開発機構宇宙科学研究本部, Institute of Space and Astronautical Science, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA/ISAS)}, title = {Experimental study on visible reflectance spectra of rough surfaces}, year = {2003} }
