A commercially available image scanner and image-analysis software enabled to statistically analze the diameters of the huge number of apertures in the flat C/C grids. This measurement method was applied to the accelerator grids of mu10 ion engine after the 20,000 hour endurance test and mu20 ion engine under ion machining in 30 hours. As a result, it was revealed that the erosion distribution of the mu10 grid had the azimuthal dependence.
