We investigated low back pain in 25 subjects who participated in a 90-day head-down tilt bed rest. Twenty-five subjects were randomly assigned to three group: control group (nine subjects), Fly-Wheel exercise group (nine subjects), and bisphosphonate group (intravenous bisphosphonate was administered to prevent bone loss; seven subjects). The subjects in bisphosphonate group performed trunk movement in flexion and extension motion in the sagittal plane and right and left side bending motion in the frontal plane for 4 minutes every 2 hours. The Fly-Wheel exercise group performed four sets of seven squats and four sets of fourteen heel raise exercises every third day. In the control group, 78 % of the subjects complained of low back pain, and backache was most severe on the second day of bed rest. The incidence and intensity of low back pain decreased after two weeks of bed rest. Low back pain increased with immobilization and daily activity in the prone position and decreased with postural change and fetal position. In the Fly-Wheel exercise group, low back pain continued until the end of the bed rest study. Subjects complained of both dull pain and irritable pain, such as numbness, burning and sharp pain. Fly-Wheel exercise was reported to be a factor that increased low back pain. In bisphosphonate group, the incidence and intensity of backache were similar to those in the control group. However, trunk movements diminished irritable pain and reduced the duration of low back pain. These results indicate that back pain during bed rest is frequently observed in the first week of bed rest, and daily trunk movements of the spine might be recommended as a simple physical countermeasure to diminish irritable pain., 資料番号: DS0049721002}, pages = {65--74}, title = {長期臥床による腰痛の実態}, volume = {43}, year = {2006} }
