観測センサ自体の性能を向上させると同時に観測性能を劣化させる様々な誤差要因を低減させることが重要である. 誤差要因は人工衛星そのものに起因するものが多い. その誤差要因低減のために必要な技術は指向制御・熱・構造など多くの分野にまたがり, 課題解決には分野横断的な研究開発が求められる. 誤差要因を構造技術の観点で分類すると, その時間スケールによって準静的な問題と動的な問題に大別される. 前者は軌道周回の熱環境の変動に起因する微小な熱変形(熱ひずみ)や高真空の宇宙空間に曝されることにより物質内部に吸着された水分などが抜けることによる収縮変形などである. 後者は姿勢制御用のホイールやセンサ冷却用の冷凍機などの搭載機器が発生する微小振動(擾乱)が挙げられる. 本稿では, 微小熱変形を抑制する高安定構造技術とそれに必要な試験環境の整備について,
