In some cases, the uncontrollable wind can be the major factor which causes the delay of engine development projects or noise reduction technology research programs. In order to minimize the risk, the feasibility of windbreak walls to improve the acoustical arena wind conditions was studied by Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis. Several configurations of windbreak walls were parametrically analyzed and evaluated. As a result of the analysis, it was found that some windbreak wall configurations had the possibility to improve the acoustical arena wind conditions, but did not have enough windbreak effect against the crosswind from specific directions.
