Miyazaki Citizen's Plaza), Miyazaki, Japan, Aeroacoustic simulations associated with noise radiation from the leading-edge slat is conducted. The shear layer emanating from the slat cusp and its subsequent reattachment upstream of the slat trailing edge lead to a primarily broadband noise spectrum. Often, however, the slat noise spectrum also exhibits narrowband peaks superimposed on the broadband portion, especially in the case of unswept wind tunnel configurations at lower than full-scale Reynolds numbers.
