The test was conducted and supported by Working Group for Development of a Winged Space Vehicle at the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) to obtain the aerodynamic characteristics of the vehicle recently studied in a preliminary aerodynamic design phase. In the present study, attention has been paid to both longitudinal and lateral/directional stability and controllability at high angles of attack in high speeds that will be encountered by the vehicle at its reentry flight. Test results are summarized in terms of aerodynamic coefficients and their derivatives.
