Retarding potential trapの各電極のよごれは,ラングミューアプローブの場合と同様,電子温度,イオン温度の測定にきわめて,深刻な影響を及ぼすことが,室内実験によって明らかにされた.衛星に搭載されたretarding potential trapとradar back scatter技術により得られたイオン温度,電子温度のちがいは,Explorer XXXxx1により得られた実験結果を考えあわせると,retarding potential trapの各電極のよごれに起因しているようにおもわれる. |

Contamination effect of a retarding potential trap is discussed on the evaluation of electron and ion temperatures. Discussion shows that the contaminated electrodes of the retarding potential trap give the ion and electron temperatures higher than the true value as in the case of a Langmuir probe. It is strongly noted that the discrepancy which has been reported in satellite observations may be solved from the consideration above. |
