This rocket being a single stage rocket, in compariosn with the previously developed K-9M and K-10 versions which are two stage, has the advantage of simplicity in operation and handling, and also of better range safety. In the development of this sounding rocket of high performance, extreme weight saving, precise alignment and high reliability of the motor case were required.
