This paper discusses a new static-launch method developed recently in ISAS, which improved the capability for heavier payloads significantly. The main procedure is to extend a whole balloon vertically upon the launcher before release, with squeezing the top bubble of the balloon by a soft collar of air-filling type. Only the bottom portion of a balloon is held by the launcher, so the main part of the balloon is never damaged by the holding mechanism of the launcher.
