In orbit, these spacecraft were subjected to severe thermal environment caused by changes in the intensity of solar radiation. For both spacecraft on board instruments were thermally isolated from external solar heat load during the missions, while the internal heat dissipations were radiated into space through four sets of thermal louvers. Temperatures of onboard components and structures agreed satisfactorily with the predictions, and were kept within the required temperature ranges for each component.
