The data is transferred to the ground station by the telemetry. Through the several balloon flights, many interesting phenomena concerned with the operating conditions of the receiver have been observed as following. (1) In case of a long distance flight, the interferometric effect caused by the radio wave reflected from the sea surface is quite large. (2) When the balloon flies over near radio station, signal strength becomes very small by the different alignment and polarization between transmitting and receiving antennas. (3) The jamming by external signals must not so serious according to a few examples. Based on those observation results, the minimum receiving gain can be estimated to keep stable command transmission. A simple field test method is developed for the measurement of the receiving gain suppressed by the noise that comes from other on board instruments.
