| 内容記述 | 太陽発電衛星（SPS）ワーキンググループは，研究課題を特定することを目的にアメリカのリファレンスシステムの問題点を検討した．その結果，研究者としてより身近な，実現性のある太陽発電衛星のコンセプトの必要性を感じ，西暦2000年実現を念頭に置いてSPS2000と呼ばれるSPSシステムを構想化した．この構想を基に研究者は具体的な研究目標を立てることができたが，その成功の理由はそのシステム設計の基本的要求としてエネルギーシステムの持つ社会的な要件を強く意識した結果と考えられる．これを踏まえてSPS2000の次の展開を予想すれば，現在馴染みになったSPS2000の設計にこだわらず，基本要求を尊重しつつ新しい技術と本格的なエンジニアリングによる実現できるシステムを提示することが必要であろう． | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | The ISAS Solar Power Satellite (SPS) Working Group made a critical review on the SPS Reference System conceived in the United States and found it essential for their research to have firm bases on realistic demand and practical technologies to be presented by an SPS concept more practical than the Reference System. For this purpose, a concept of SPS named SPS 2000 was developed, assuming its construction to be started in 2000. The concept helped the SPS researchers to make comprehensible research plans for their research community to support their activities in this new research field. The success of the conceptual study has resulted from the fundamental requirements for the study. To extend the successful study of the SPS 2000 for the next century, it is more important to vitalize the requirements for a new system design than to improve the conceptual design itself. | |||||||||
