内容記述 | Electron mobilities in potassium and cesium were measured in low electron temperature(3×10^3~8×10^30K). The measurements were carried out in DC glow discharge of potassium or cesium by the method of the probe technique. The discharge tube was put in an oven, temperature of which determined the saturated vapour pressure of each species. Number densities of potassium and cesium were 3.2~6.7×10^15cm^-3 and 1.1~8.7×10^15cm^-3 respectively.The temperatuons and number density of the electron were measured from double probe characteristics. Current densities were calculated from the discharge current, the radial distribution of which was assumed to be O-th order Bessel function. The electric field was measured from a potential difference between two probes which were axially situated. As the oven temperature increased, the electron temperature decreased on the contrary. In fact, for cesium the number density was 1×10^15cm^-3~8×10^15cm^-3, while the electron temperature was 8×10^30K~4×10^30K.Calculations from measured mobilities show that the graph of momentum cross sections of electron with potassium and cesium versus electron temperature have a concave parts like those of some inert gas stoms. Concerning potassium, the part is at about 5,500 K with its value of 7×10^-15cm^2, while for cesium it is below 4,000K.Matching of these deta with Brode's ones above 0.8eV and that with Flavin & Meyerand, Chen & Raether and Harris's at lower energy range are satisfactory. | |||||||||
