| 内容記述 | A statistical theory of molecular rotation in normal solid paraffins and alcohols, corresponding to Bethe approximation in order-disorder theory of alloys is described. The effect of lattice vibration and rotational oscillation of molecules as well as the lattice expansion due to molecular rotation are entirely neglected. A sharp anomaly in specific heat at the transition temperature is expected, in accord with the experimental result about hexadecyl alcohol previously des ribed. The large contribution of the internal degrees of freedom of the molecule to the amount of the anomalous specific heat is emphasised. | |||||||||
