At small deformations, the tensile behavior is still dominated by the viscoelastic properties of the binder rubber and is characterized quite well by means of modified linear viscoelasticity theory and the time-temperature superposition principle. Under loading, the binder-filler bond can fail, creating vacuoles around the particles. This phenomenon is generally called \"dewetting\". A new failure condition, which defines the limit of linear behavior or the initiation of propagative dewetting, is proposed based on the thermodynamics of irreversible processes. Strain at the limit is designated by ε_T, which is in good agreement with the well defined critical strain ε_L by Landel for the present propellant system with unimodal particle size distribution. Another critical strain ε_C, at which the dewetting is centered, is determined from strain-dilatation behavior. Failure envelopes referred to ε_L, ε_C and ε_T are shown to be defined as well as that based on the rupture data. Dewetting can cause instability of the burning process. Experimental study shows that the transitional porous state to the cracked condition has the effect to increase the propellant deflagration. A theoretical study of the detonation characteristics of dewetted propellants shows that for nominally non-porous propellant, the critical diameter dc is too large for detonation to propagate at steady state in realistic propellant size, but that dc and the initiating energy required for detonation are decreased rapidly as the porosity is increased. This means that a propellant containing sufficient amount of porosity can undergo detonation or a deflagration to detonation transition. It is demonstrated by experiment that the presence of pores in a propellant grain produced from dewetting causes pressure fluctuations to interfere with the operation of the motor, although no disastrous pressure build-up occurs in small size of motors.","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_9_description_32":{"attribute_name":"資料番号","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"資料番号: SA1014915000","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_9_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"宇宙科学研究所"}]},"item_9_publisher_9":{"attribute_name":"出版者(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Institute of Space and Astronautical Science"}]},"item_9_source_id_21":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0285-6808","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_9_source_id_24":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA10632072","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"KOHNO, Masahiro","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"418769","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2020-01-24"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"SA1014915.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"6.9 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"SA1014915.pdf","url":"https://jaxa.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/34143/files/SA1014915.pdf"},"version_id":"8b0fef35-35de-48f9-8ded-211304a01e27"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"composite propellant","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"viscoelasticity","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"dewetting","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"critical diameter","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"deflagration to detonation transition","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"A Study of Mechanical Failure Properties and their Effects on Combustion Characteristics of AP Composite Propellants","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"A Study of Mechanical Failure Properties and their Effects on Combustion Characteristics of AP Composite Propellants","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"9","owner":"1","path":["1890","1903"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2015-03-26"},"publish_date":"2015-03-26","publish_status":"0","recid":"34143","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["A Study of Mechanical Failure Properties and their Effects on Combustion Characteristics of AP Composite Propellants"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-20T23:48:55.376526+00:00"}
