内容記述 | Ammonium nitrate and thallium nitrate have many phase transitions in the solid state. The electric conductivities of these materials were measured by a Wientype bridge at 900 and 30,000 cycles per sec. The electric conductivity of ammonium nitrate increases as the temparature rises, especially at about 82℃ (phase III → II transition point) and 125℃ (phase II - I transition point). As for the descending temperature,the change. of the electric conductivity at the higher transition point is reversible, but the one at the lower transition point is not reversible, that is, the discontinuous change of the conductivity occurs at about 70℃. In thallium nitrate, the ionic radius of Tl^+ being approximately equal to that of NH_4^+, the conductivity changes discontinuously at about 140℃ (phase II -I transition point) in the same way as in the case of ammonium nitrate. Above 80° to 140℃ the conductivity increases rapidly, but continuously through the transition point. It is concluded that the high conductivity in phase I and II of these materials is closely related to the rotation of No_3^+ ion in the crystal. (Received March 7, 1951) | |||||||||
