The principle and the circuits of the Kalousek's method which was originated by M. Kalousek to test the "reversibiliy" of the polarographic wave, were briefly described. This method was applied to the polarographic reduction process of titanic ion in the medium of sulfuric acid and also to that of nickel-thiocyanate complex ion in KNO_3-KSCN or KCl-KSCN solution. It was found out from the experimental results that in both cases the rate constant of the oxidation process of the reduced substance is negligibly small in the region of the electrode potential where the reduction wave appears. This conclusion was in agreement with that obtained by the application of the theoretical equations of the current-voltage curve to the actual reduction wave. It was suggested that the more or less quantitative treatment on the problem of the "reversibility" will be possibly carried out by the application of the Kalousek's method.
