内容記述 A study of supersonic air jets issuing from a circular orifice of 2.2cm diameter has been made by the use of schlieren method. The minimum receiver-tank pressure ratio, (p_A/p_T)min, was 0.159 in this experiment. It was found that the first shock configuration in the jets changed its form from conical to dish-type at p_A/p_T≒0.3. This critical phenomenon is quite similar to the change of two-dimensional shock pattern from regular. to Mach reflection. The position of the first shock and the diameter of the nearly normal shock in the dish-type shock pattern have been determined in relation to p_A/p_T. The angles between the three shocks in the dish-type configuration were measured from schlieren photographs to examine whether or not the theory of Mach reflection, which assumes non-existence o.f discontinuities in pressure and flow direction behind the triple point, can hold. in this case. The results of the analysis shoved that the three-shock interaction in the axially symmetric jets was explained almost completely by the theory when p_A/p_T was not so low, while it was negative when p_A/p_T was low. Some ambiguities in the pressure distribution in front of the triple point and the existence of a mixing layer behind the same point made it impossible to extrude further conclusive results from the analysis of this experiment.
