Recently F. Seitz pointed out the existence of the complex centers in alkali halide crystals through the qualitative consideration in connection with the M-and R-bands produced in KCl by irradiating with x-rays by J. P. Molnar. Afterwards Y.Uchida discovered experimentally the existence of a new 'absorption band K in the electrolysed rock salt, and, further, observed the M-and R-bands in NaCl and KCl by irradiation with x-rays. As these experimental facts seem to demand the systematic investigation of complex centers proposed by Seitz, now we have attempted to carry out the calculation of the electronic structure of F_2-center along a similar way to that of F_2^+-center reported in the previous paper. |
