内容記述 The effects of gas ejection from a bluff-body flameholder on the structure and the stability of lean, premixed city gas-air flames were studied using the city gas or air as the additive. Four kinds of flameholders of 10mm-diameter pipe with various types of ejection were used. The configuration and the structure of the flame were examined by taking the direct time-exposure and the instantaneous (1μsec) schlieren photographs. The ejection of city gas shifts the stability limit of the flame toward leaner equivalence ratio, while the air ejection shifts the stability limit toward richer mixtures. For the small amount of the additive, the effects of gas ejection on the stability limits are same for every flameholder with different types of ejection, and the shift of the stability curve is attributed chiefly to the variation of the chemical factors of the reciculation zone due to gas ejection. As the ejection rate is increased, however, the flame and the reciculation zone are influenced by the aerodynamic disturbances which are different for each flameholder, so that the difference of the effect of gas ejection on the stability limits appears for each flameholder. So far as the stabilized flame is attached to the flameholder, the transition from laminar to turbulent flame or the fluctuations in the flame front are suppressed with city gas ejection. In the case in which the flame is held at a short distance from the flameholder, the amplitude of the fluctuations in the flame front becomes larger. In these cases, the flame is apt to oscillate as it approaches the blow-off limits. It is concluded that, for the main stream of lean mixtures, the fuel gas should be ejected directly into the recirculation zone in order to increase the stability limits and to maintain the steady combustion.
