In some cases the saturation field is as low as 6000 Oer., whereas the saturation induction of iron is larger than 15000 gauss. In our design, in which the section of iron core increases in the exciting coil, the magnetic field is linear to exciting current up to 15000 Oer. Brief history and fundamental principles of electromagnet design are also given. Details of the construction are given in appendix.
