It is well known that it is possible to construct a direct current power supply which has a stable output voltage and low internal resistance by means of vacuum tube technique. W. L. Kinsell found that a d-c power supply can be operated with good results by suitably adjusting the screen grid voltage of a pentode. In this report it is at-tempted to analyze the function of such a circuit, and the operation principle is clarified by comparing the calculations with observed data. Suggestions on designing a suitable stabiliser are given. |
