When bacteriophages were dried in the air, the effect of the surface tension of water was considerable and their heads tended to be flattened. When bacteriophages were frozen dried their heads appeared hexagonal and were slightly smaller than those by other methods. When pseudo-replicas of agar surface spread with bacteriophages were made, some irregular deformation occurred for even numbered bacteriophages.
