In order to clarify the mechanism of hardening and to study the effect of third elements on the copper-magnesium alloys, the author made a further research on adding to it 1 percent aluminium, antimony, chromium, iron, manganese, nickel, silicon and, tin. The results obtained may be summarized as follows : (1) The age-hardening is accelerated by the addition of 1 percent antimony and tin, but does not take place by the addition of 1 percent alminium, chromium, iron, manganese, nickel and silicon.
