| 内容記述 | The author attempts to construct the mechanics of grains by the statistical considerations. The energy dissipation is assumed to be equal to K_2 log W, where K_2 is a constant and W is the probability of the configuration of grains. That the energy dissipation is an additive quantity and is the function of the statistical variable of the configuration and that the larger porosity is more probable than smaller one are fundamental standpoints. The results were compared with those of experiments and it was shown that the mechanism of the deformation of the sand mass in a box under compression is clarified by the author's theory, i.e. the deformation has two: stages, the first of which is principally due to the interchange of the grains and the second stage of the deformation is mainly due to the elastic deformation of each grain. | |||||||||
