The case of R=20 is dealt with, where R=Ud/v is the Reynolds number, U being the Velocity of the oncoming stream, d the diameter of the sphere, and v the kinematic viscosity. It is found that (i) the arthor's previous approximation [2] is fairly good, but it underestimates the asymmetry of the flow pattern with respect to the plane (passing through the center of the sphere), perpendicular to the undisturbed flow, (ii) the standing vortex ring does not seem to occur behind the sphere for R=20, and (iii) the calculated drag coefficient is in close agreement with existing experimental results.
