内容記述 From X-ray studies of iron-nickel-aluminium alloys a new phase α' was discovered. Although in the surface layers of these alloys an unstable γ-phase is observed in the early stage of annealing, this phase disappears entirely with prolonged annealing, the X-ray pattern showing the coexistence of the α- and α'-phases. In the interiors of the specimens the unstable γ-phase is never found, only diffused X-ray interference lines being observed there. However, by very long annealing extending to 3500 hours at 1000°, the writer succeeded in observing a splitting phenomenon of the X-ray pattern in the interiors of the specimens also. This new change, α→α+α', has been taken as the main reaction in the ternary system, instead of the α→α+γ change as suggested by previous investigators. From an X-ray analysis of the Fe-Ni-Al system, the α'-phase has been identified as the solid solution of the intermetallic compound NiAl. The ternary equilibria were studied by means of X-ray analysis, and Koster's (α+γ)-field was subdivided into phase fields (α+α'), (α'+γ), (α+γ), and (α+α'+γ). The newly found phase boundaries were determined by X-rays. Some associated new reactions, viz. α→(α+α')→(α+α'+γ), α→(α+γ)→(α+α'+γ)→(α+α'), γ→(γ+α)→(γ+α+α')→(α+α'), and γ→(γ+α')→(γ+α'+α)→(α'+α), were also confirmed by dilatometric analysis, from which result the validity of the new equilibria was ascertained. From the new ternary equilibria the conode-line in the iron-nickel-aluminium magnet alloys was determined, and the mechanism of the splitting phenomenon of α-crystals due to the new transformation was thus clarified.
