内容記述 In the preceding report on the improved form of supporting jack for use in the load test of aeroplane by one of the present authors, it was mentioned that the ideal form of load testing of aeroplane structures must be the one using oil pressure instead of the method of loading by gravity. In this country, the improved form of supporting jack and other methods of measurement for use in the load testing of aeroplane developed by one of the present authors have been used in the other institutes and factories for more than several years and satisfactory results have been obtained. However, considering the facts that the wing loading of aeroplane tends to increase and the method of loading by gravity is inadequate for the aeroplane wing of high wing loading, and that the method of loading by oil pressure has various merits over the old method, it became necessary to investigate about the possibility of using oil pressure in the load testing of the aeroplane. Fortunately, the Kawanisi Aeroplane Company had taken an interest in the method and assisted the present authors in various ways, and the fundamental experiments on the method of load testing by oil pressure was undertaken in 1937 by the present authors under collaboration with the laboratory of the company. The present report describes the outline of the method of load testing devised by the authors and the results of fundamental experiments on the friction between cylinder and plunger of the loading jack. In particular, the effects on the friction of the oblique application of the load, the relative motion perpendicular to the axis of the jack, the grade of the surface condition of both the cylinder and plunger are investigated using the experimental jack. Also the method of minimumising the friction is proposed, and the results of the test of the loading jack which is intended for use in actual load testing are described.
