内容記述 | The problem of the deformation of a circular plate has been solved for several cases of surface loading under the conditions of being either clamped or supported at the boundary. In this paper the author has solved approxin ately the deformation of a circular plate under uniform pressure, when the deflection of the plate is not negligibly small compared with its thickness, without any restriction as to the boundary condition except the assumption that σ_γ=0 at the boundary, and calculated the corresponding stress distribution on the surface of the plate and the bending moment at the boundary. The method used in this report is similar to that of Prescott, but the fundamental equation (eq.7), expressing an energy integral, is of more general form. Assuming an expression for the deformation of the neutral plane (eq.10), the author obtained the relation (eq.14) between pressure and deformation, in which n is considered as a parameter expressing the measure of constraint at the boundary of the plate, and varying between 1 and (1+v)/(5+v) (v being Poisson's ratio) according to the boundary condition; that is, when the plate is clamped at the boundary, n=1; when supported, n=(1+v)/(5+v). It is shown that the above formulae can explain fairly well the results of an experiment carried out for "Plexi-glas" plates, by assuming the value of n to be 0.764. | |||||||||
