| 内容記述 | A New Apparatus for Testing the Controlling-Ability of Pilot, and its Application. By K. Tomiduka and K. Hunadu. -The function of the apparatus (illustrated in Figs. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) newly designed by the authors is to imitate the relation between indication of measuring instruments and corresponding controlling devices in the aeroplane, such as that between inclinometer and control-stick. But contrary to the revolving seat for testing the psychology of the pilot, this apparatus is always stationary, and the change of indication is effected solely mechanically both by the action of the agitator and that of compensator. The agitator consists of multiple cam of definite profile which transmits series of predetermined agitating motion to the indicator. The control lever is connected with the compensator, which is so related to the indicator as it can compensate fully the deviation created by the agitator. Therefore, if the control is suitable the indication rests at its desired position irrespective of agitation. But on the contrary, if the control is unsuitable, some amount of deviation appears in the indication, which becomes the measure of skillfulness in controlling. Four quantities, i.e., agitation, control, indication, and time scale are recorded automatically on a sheet of paper.(See Figs.7 and 8.) The ratio of time-integrals of absolute value of residual deviation and original deviation is measured, which is very useful for the comparison of the controlling-ability. This apparatus is also useful in the training of the blind-flight, and in the comparative study of types of indicators, of which one example is added in this paper.
