内容記述 On Methods of Measuring the Charging Efficiency of Two-Stroke Engines. By K. Tomiduka and H. Sibata. -Up to the present, the method contrived by Prof. W. Watson is the only method for measuring the charging efficiency of two-stroke engine while it is running. In his method, admission of rich mixture is necessary, and the amount of free oxygen in the exhaust gas becomes the index of amount of lost charge. By gas analysis, the amount of CO_2, O_2 and CO is measured, and the charging efficiency is thus calculated [chemicalformula] The present anthours propose 8 different methods, which are mostly simpler than the Watson's, and sufficiently correct for the engineering purpose. The first is the modification of Watson's method, thus [chemicalformula] This is very simple, but is almost as correct as watson's. 6 quite different methods, in which weak mixture is adimtted to the engine, are also described. These are very practical, but measurement of air-fuel ratio is indispensable. 3 methods require only measurement of CO_2, another CO_2 and O_2, and the last 2 methods only require O_2 Formulas are listed in Table 3. The experimental comparison has been done, and accuracy and usefulness of the new methods are clearly shown in Fig. 10.
