Dilatation and thermal change, during a slow heating of quenched specimens were also observed. Some experiments were made on quenched duralumin. The observed facts in these experiments do not agree with the conclusions obtained from the precipitation theory by Merica and others. A solid solution theory which is a modified form of Dr. S.
