内容記述 Starting from the simple momentum theory of airscrew the mutual interference between airscrew and obstruction in the slip stream was studied. The results reached at are the following: 1 For the same thrust coefficient [numerical formula] the inflow velocity is larger for airscrew without obstruction, the difference being [numerical formula] approximately where o is a constant depending on the size and the position of the obstruction but not on the thrust coefficient of the airscrew. 2 The increase of the coefficient of resistance of the obstruction can be attributed to two causes. The first which is by far the important when the form of obstruction is fine is the difference of pressure, the amount being [numerical formula] where d_1 and d_2 are the distances of the ends of the cylinder by which the obstruction was replaced, from the plane of rotation of the airscrew. The second is the increase of velocity around the obstruction the amount being [numerical formula] The increase of resistance coefficient is thus proportional to the thrust coefficient. Finally the theory was compared with the experiment published in R & M No. 830 of Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. The coincidence is fairly good except the cases in which the obstruction is excessively large.
