On the self cooling of exhaust pipe, By K. TOMIDUKA, K. MATUZAKI, and G. ONOUE.---The comparative study of ordinary exhaust pipe and several new self cooled exhaust pipes. In these pipes, self cooling is obtained by utilying the kinetic energy of the exhaust gas in sucking fresh air. The air thus sucked is mixed with the hot gas and reduces the temperature of the latter. Thus the temperature of the pipe is so reduced that the fire risk is almost fully eliminated. |
