内容記述 At present, Roots blowers are considerably used as the supercharger or scavenging blower for aero-engines. The increased revolution of Roots blower rises its volumetric efficiency and the quantity of suction air to blower weight ratio which is a very important factor especially for aero-engines, but in the case of constant suction area the augmentation of air quantity, i.e., the enlargement of the velocity of suction air, will tend its pressure to decrease, therefore in the case that the air quantity and the pressure ratio are constant, it will be necessary to keep the pressure of suction air as high as possible for the purpose of getting the maximum value of delivery pressure, by means of the enlargement of the suction port. In the present paper, the author attempted to make maximum the value of the product of volumetric efficiency of blower, 〓υ, which is the value calculated in this case by using the values of constant suction pressure and constant temperature, and the density of suction air, ρs, in order to get maximum value of the ratio of delivery air quantity to r. p. m. of rotor, for equal blower capacity and equal quantity of suction air by giving suitable value to the ratio of length to diameter of rotor, and also treated the relations of the diameter of rotor to volumetric efficiency 〓vol.i.e., the effect of size on the 〓vol. of Roots blower, and the 〓vol. to rotor revolution, the pressure ratio of the blower to 〓vol. by using experimental data of Roots blowers. Finally, the author discussed the effect of volumetric efficiency briefly upon the overall adiabatic efficiency of that type of blower and centrifugal superchargers.
